Morris family.

Prominent Quincy, Ill. family noted in politics and business, who was related by marriage to the Collins family who founded Collinsville, Ill. Isaac Collins came from Ohio where his father was a noted lawyer and U.S. senator, to Quincy and opened a law practice, was elected to the state legislature, the U.S. senate and was appointed by President Grant, a family friend, as a commissioner to the Union Pacific Railroad. His son Thomas L. married Lillie, the daughter of William H. Collins, who had served in the Civil War. William H. was the son of William B. Collins a founder of Collinsville. Thomas and Lillies' son, W. Collins Morris, married Hettie Spicer of Ponca, Oklahoma, where he worked in the oil business and they had one son, Thomas Spicer Morris.
