Batt, William L. (William Loren), 1916-2004
Variant namesWilliam Loren Batt, Jr., was born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1916. In 1938, he graduated from Harvard University, and became a member of the Temporary National Economic Committee. In 1941, he became the Assistant to the Expeditor of Lend Lease in London, England. During the 1940s and 1950s, Batt was a government official dealing with labor issues. He was a member of the Presidents Task Force on Area Redevelopment in 1960, and in 1961 was an Administrator for the Area Redevelopment Administration in the Department of Commerce. Batt was a member of the National Advisory Committee on Vocational Education in 1964.
