University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Faculty Council. Ad hoc Committee on Athletics and the University.

Hide Profile

The Ad hoc Committee on Athletics and the University was appointed by the Faculty Council in 1988 to examine the university's intercollegiate athletics program. The committee attracted considerable attention by recommending that the university unilaterally adopt reforms to its athletics program, that is, independent of other schools in the Atlantic Coast Conference and the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
