Vail, Thomas, 1734-1806.
Lieutenant Thomas Vail (1734-1806) served in the French and Indian War in 1760 and in 1762 was a farmer in Oyster Ponds, Long Island, N.Y. In 1769, he moved with his wife and six children to Lebanon, Conn., where he farmed, but in 1773 Vail purchased land and removed to Pomfret, Vt. He was called out for service in Vermont three times during the Revolution.
