Tucker, William Robinson, 1845-1930

Tucker was manager for the counting house of John R. Penrose which operated a line of sailing vessels between Liverpool and Philadelphia and was primarily involved in the salt trade. At the same time, Tucker was secretary of the Philadelphia Board of Trade and served in various capacities with the Board of Port Wardens, Joint Executive Committee for the Improvement of the Harbor, the Delaware and Schuylkill Rivers, the National Board of Trade, and the Philadelphia Bourse.
