Publicist, writer, and editor, Doris (Bauman) Gold was an editor for The Young Judaean magazine (1963-1972), a writer for the New York Federation of Jewish Philanthropies (1972-1974), and in 1979 the founder of Biblio Press. She also served as executive director of the Pete McGuinness Senior Center in Brooklyn (1974-1977) and was on the public relations staff of the Associated YM-YWHA of New York beginning in 1978. She was the Eastern Region coordinator for the National Organization for Women's Task Force on Volunteerism (1973-1976).
