Public School Society of New-York. Committee of the New York Free School No. 2.
Formed by the Free-School Society of New-York (after 1825, the Public School Society of New-York) in 1811 to organize New York Free School No. 2 on Henry Street; the society was dissolved in 1853 when the free schools became part of the city's ward school system.
