The Rotary Club of Savannah (Club No. 95) was founded January 5, 1914. Rotary is an international organization of business and professional leaders that is dedicated to providing humanitarian service and building goodwill and peace in the world. Rotary encourages high ethical standards in all vocations. Clubs meet weekly, and there are nearly 27,000 Rotary clubs worldwide. Membership is by invitation and is based on one representative of each business and profession. Their motto is "service above self." Initially a men's only organization, Rotary is now co-ed. Sister Mary Faith was the first woman inducted into the Rotary Club of Savannah.
