Getty Mining Company was an American mining corporation during the second half of the twentieth century. The company was involved in mining and mineral exploration projects throughout the United States, Canada, and various other countries between the 1960s and 1980s. Their operations included mining and searching for uranium, oil shale, sulfur, and numerous other minerals. Materials related to geothermal drilling are present as well. Getty Mining Company was purchased by Texaco, Incorporated in 1984.
