Founded in 1954 and composed of exiled democratic leaders, diplomats, trade unionists and intellectuals from captive European nations. The Assembly's purpose is political action aimed at the restoration of freedom and independence for the nations of Albania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Romania. Committees of the ACEN include Cultural-Information; Economic-Social; and Political-legal. The ACEN News is published bi-monthly.
