Missionary, educator, publisher in Portugal and Brazil; born on November 10, 1929 in Bolivia; received a B.A. and a M.A. from Wheaton College (1949, 1951), a B.D. from Faith Theological Seminary (1953), and a Ph. D. from the University of Edinburgh (1955); appointed by Conservative Baptist Foreign Mission Society to faculty of Leiria Seminary in Portugal, 1959; involved in publishing ministry in Portugal and Brazil, 1959- ; served as president of Edicoes Vida Nova (New Life Editions), which produced books to train, teach, and nurture Portuguese-speaking Christians; moved to Brazil, 1962; headed the Bible department of Facultad Teologica Batista in Sao Paulo and pastored the Metropolitan Chapel which he founded in 1977.
