Lefroy, J. H. (John Henry), Sir, 1817-1890
Variant namesLefroy was a colonel in the Royal Artillery and Inspector-General of Army schools 1857-1860. In 1871 appointed Governor of Bermuda and in 1877 awarded a K.C.M.G. In August 1880, Lefroy became administrator of Tasmania, where he remained until 1882 (ADB v.5:77-8).
