Reverend J.H. Saye (1808 - 1892), was an educator and Presbyterian minister active in the vicinity of Chester and Union Counties, S.C.; in 1838, Rev. Saye married Rebecca McJunkin (1818 - 1904) of Union District, S.C., who was the daughter of farmer and blacksmith Abram McJunkin (1787 - 1859), and Margaret Savage McJunkin (1789 - 1845).
