Byberry School Association.
Byberry School Association was formed in 1837 by several Friends, mostly members of Byberry Meeting, for the purpose of raising stock to buy land and erect a secondary boarding school in Byberry. The school opened in the spring of 1838. After a few years of operation, the school failed, and in 1843, the company sold the property at public sale to James Thornton.
