The Alaska Native Health Career Program was created in 1974 to promote the health and well-being of Native people by establishing the Native management and operation of the health care system that serves them. The program seeks to increase the involvement of Alaska Natives in the health career professions by providing culturally relevant career information, financial aid information, student advising, and advocacy tutoring.
