The National Association of Civilian Conservation Corps Alumni was founded in 1977 by several former CCC enrollees living in California. In 1982, the organization included over 60 chapters, and in 1980 the membership was expanded to include alumni of similar modern day programs such as the Youth Conservation Corps and the Young Adult Conservation Corps.

Arizona Chapter 44 was founded in 1980 in the Phoenix area and has grown to include members from all parts of Arizona.
