Campbell, J. M. (John Malcolm)
Variant namesJames Campbell of James Campbell & Sons, the timber merchants, was born in 1830 in Scotland and came to Australia in 1853. Together with his sons he established the company in Creek Street. James Campbell's company also owned a number of saw mills, the Buderim Mountain Sugar Mill, and a lime works and a glass factory. James Campbell and his wife Isabella had eight children; John, James, Charles, George, Harry, Jessie, Helen, and Isabella. All of the sons except Harry worked for the family company.
James Campbell Snr. had a number of brothers and sisters; Jessie, Maryann, Catharine, and Peter. Peter Campbell started a soap and candle manufactory in 1867.
Morag and Marian Campbell are the daughters of George P. Campbell.
