Williams, John, 1853-1921
Variant namesStreator, Illinois resident who was instrumental in the settlement for the families following the Cherry Mine disaster in 1909, chairman of the board of arbitration for the Hart Schaffner & Marx labor agreement, and involved in numerous other labor agreements, managed the Streator Opera House for 27 years, was president of the Illinois Unitarian Association and acted as fuel administrator for Illinois during WWI until ill health forced him to resign.
