Crane, Royston Campbell, 1864-1956.
Lawyer, politician, historian. Born in 1864 in Washington County, Texas. Was awarded B.A. by Baylor University and L.L.B. by the University of Texas Law School. Mayor of and longtime lawyer in Sweetwater, Texas. Served as president of the West Texas Historical Association (1925-1948). Active in the West Texas, or "Sweetwater," Secession Movement to create an Agricultural and Mechanical College in West Texas.
