The Faculty Welfare Committee of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is a standing committee of the faculty. As of 2008, it was appointed by the chair of the faculty and charged with working toward the improvement of faculty working conditions, including salaries and benefits. It was established in 1950 on the recommendation of the faculty's Committee on University Government to continue the work of the Committee on Faculty Living Conditions, which had been discharged in 1949.
