Green, Charles, 1807-1881.
Charles Green (1807-1881) born in Liverpool, England, immigrated to Savannah, Georgia during the 1820's and participated in the cotton shipping and commission business. Returning from a visit to Europe in 1861, Green was arrested as a Confederate agent and imprisoned at Fort Warren in Boston, Massachusetts. Upon his release from prison, Green returned to Savannah.
