Carl N. Atiyeh, son of Nicholas and Zehia Atiyeh, was raised in Glens Falls, N.Y. He graduated from Glens Falls High School and the New York Institute of Photography. His photography studio was located in his home on Mohican Street. In addition to his career as a photographer for the Glens Falls Times and the Post-Star, he worked for the U.S. Army and also from about 1950 to 1967 as a corrections officer for New York State at Great Meadow Correctional Facility, Comstock.
