Vanderbilt, George, 1839-1907
Captain, Company L, 10th New York Cavalry. As Captain he was in charge of Company L of the New York 10th Volunteer Cavalry [Source: Civil War Campaigns of the 10th New York Cavalry by Ron Matteson.] He was the son of John G. Vanderbilt and Elizabeth Benson Vanderbilt of Rockland County, New York. On August 12, 1894 as George Vanderbilt, he married Julia Sage at Manhattan, New York. Marital status of both was Widowed. Julia Sage was the daughter of Joseph H. Beasley.
