People's Savings Bank-Bridgeport
Southport Savings Bank founded in Southport, Conn., in 1854, by Frederick Marquand and others; in 1955 it merged with Bridgeport-People's Savings Bank (Bridgeport Savings Bank established 1842, joining with People's Savings Bank in 1927 to form Bridgeport-People's Savings Bank) to become Southport branch of the renamed People's Savings Bank-Bridgeport; name later changed to People's Bank.
