Hide Profile

The Stevens Institute of Technology was founded in 1870 in Hoboken, New Jersey following the death of Edwin Stevens, who, in his will, donated the money to establish an engineering school that would bear the family name. Harvey Nathaniel Davis was inaugurated as Stevens Institute of Technology's third president in 1928. He would guide the Institute through both a great depression and World War before stepping down in 1951. Today there is a dormitory named after Davis at Stevens to commemorate his tenure.
