Margaret Elizabeth McIntosh of Boca, Nevada, graduated with the 27th class of the California State Normal School in December of 1884. In April of 1885 she returned to Boca, Nevada where she opened a school and taught there until 1886. From April 1886-June 1890, and again from March 1893-c.1895, she taught in Reno, Nevada. In 1897 she married Francis M. Black of Vancouver, British Columbia. Between her marriage in 1897 and her death in 1945, she lived in several places throughout Canada, including Nelson, B.C.; Winnipeg, Manitoba; Calgary, Alberta; and Vancouver, B.C. She attended her 50th class reunion in June of 1934. The collection was donated to the San Jose State College archives in 1969 by her daughter, Charlotte S. Black.
