Academic, historian and author. After initially training for the priesthood, in 1964, Molony left the Catholic Church and embarked on an academic career in the History Department at the Australian National University. In addition to his academic career, he has published a number of scholarly works, numerous newspaper and journal articles, chapters in books and literary reviews.
