Johnson Female University (Anderson, S.C.)
Women's college founded 1848 in Anderson, S.C., named for Rev. William Bullein Johnson (1782-1862), first president of the Southern Baptist Convention; prior to 1853, known as Johnson Female Seminary; the school closed during the Civil War.
