Flood, John, 1841-1909.
Journalist and Irish patriot. Arrived in Western Australia in 1868 on the "Hougoumont" after being convicted of treason in Dublin in 1867. Received a conditional pardon in 1871 and left for New Zealand that year.

John Flood, 1841-1909, journalist and Irish patriot was convicted of treason, 1867, and transported to Western Australia on the Hougoumont. After receiving a conditional pardon, 1871, he lived mainly in Queensland, working principally as a journalist, newspaper editor or manager.
