Specifically, the series was issued by the Orientation Branch, Information and Education Division. Information was supplied by various Army generals, commanders, and their staffs. There is a space for the enlistee to record his/her name, date of enlistment, date of arrival in the European Theater, and decorations earned. There is also a space at the back of many of these pamphlets in which to record the autographs of fellow service personnel.
