Silas Avery Holmes (1819 or 20-1886) was a New York City photographer who was a contemporary of Matthew Brady. He operated five studios, one of which was located at 596 Broadway between Houston and Prince Streets. Another was at 303 Broadway between Duane and Reade Streets.
