French, William, 1926-
Variant namesWilliam French was born in London, Ontario. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1948. With the retirement of W.A. Deacon in 1960, French became the Globe's literary editor. He has written several book reviews and magazine articles. He is the author of A most unlikely village: a history of Forest Hill (1964).
