National Peace Federation.
This Illinois-based peace organization was one of a number of sponsors of the International Peace Congress held at San Francisco, Oct. 10-13, 1915. Louis Lochner was the Federation's Secretary, Jane Addams was the Vice President, and Hamilton Holt was the President. American neutrality was promoted by the National Peace Federation because the first World War had begun in Europe.
