Arnold Wesker, Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, the playwright and director, a past President of the International Playwrights' Committee, was born on 24 May 1932 in Stepney, London, to Jewish parents. For fuller details of his life and achievements see Who's who .

From the guide to the Autograph typescript and manuscript drafts of Arnold Wesker's contribution to a composite play entitled, Consequences, with related correspondence between him and Simon Reade, 1990-1991, (Leeds University Library)

Arnold Wesker gave a collection of his own works to Nathaniel Tarn, in part because Tarn was a very thorough collector, but also to see what such a collection would eventually look like and perhaps, to ascertain at some point in the future what value would be ascribed to such a collection.

From the description of Nathaniel Tarn collection of Arnold Wesker materials, circa 1920-1988. (Unknown). WorldCat record id: 754863182
