Hanson, Earl Parker, 1899-....
Variant namesHanson received his B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1922. He did engineering and independent research in geography in the Atacama Desert for three years following his graduation. In 1927 he worked as an engineer in Iceland, and in 1929 he traveled in the Orinoco and Amazon Basins and in the Andes, making a scientific survey for the Carnegie Institute of Washington. In 1935 he went to Puerto Rico as a planning consultant from the National Resources Committee to the Puerto Rico Reconstruction Administration. He retired from the government in 1937.
