Richard Milner, an anthropologist and staunch proponent of the theory of evolution by natural selection, is affiliated with the American Museum of Natural History and its former publication Natural history.

Milner is a contributing editor to Natural history, and the author of The encyclopedia of evolution : humanity's search for its origins (Facts on File, 1990, and H. Holt, c1993). An expert on Charles Darwin, Milner has published articles in both scholarly and popular scientific journals, and has developed a talent for writing lyrics and for musical performance. Starting with an impromptu song during the keynote speech at the opening of an exhibit on Darwin at Dresden's Deutsches Hygiene-Museum in 1994, Milner has gone on to write Darwin, the musical. In addition to his writing and live performances, Milner appears on radio and television talk shows and has created a website, Darwin live.
