A school at Byberry under the care of Byberry Meeting was established in 1720. The school operated in a log house near the meeting house until 1772, when the original building was deemed unfit for use, and the school was moved to the meetinghouse until 1789, when a new building was erected. By 1792, the school had grown so much in size that an addition was built. Between 1776 and 1794, the Preparative Meeting received several donations for the purpose of establishing a school fund. In 1800, a school fund was finally formed. A new school building was erected in 1823. After the turn of the century school attendance gradually declined and when the Yearly Meeting withdrew its support in 1918, the school was closed.
