John Angier Hyde was born in Rehoboth, Mass., on 10 July 1771. He practiced medicine in Freeport, Me., and earned an honorary M.D. from the Medical School of Maine at Bowdoin College in 1831, at the age of sixty. John A. Hyde died on 19 Feb. 1857.
