The Michigan Reformatory (also known at times as the Michigan State House of Corrections and Reformatory) was established by law in 1887 in Ionia, Michigan. It was closed on December 31, 2001. The reformatory was under the jurisdiction of the Michigan Department of Corrections, which was established in 1937.
