Miller served as the first director of the College Press Bureau and was the supervisor for the student newspaper, Oklahoma A and M College Mirror. Journalism began as part of the English department. In 1937 Journalism split from English to become a separate department and later a school. The School of Journalism and Broadcasting was formed in 1970.
