Bradford Monthly Meeting was established in 1737 by Chester [Concord] Quarterly Meeting. In 1827, after the Hicksite Separation in Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, the meeting split into Hicksite and Orthodox branches. Bradford Monthly Meeting (Hicksite) merged with Uwchlan Monthly Meeting (Hicksite) in 1883 to form Bradford & Uwchlan Monthly Meeting. This meeting was discontinued in 1901. Bradford Monthly Meeting (Orthodox), which reunited with Philadelphia Yearly Meeting (Hicksite) in 1955, was the forerunner of the present-day Bradford Monthly Meeting.
