Plowkio, Stephen J.
Variant namesStephen J. Plowkio was born in 1894. He enlisted May 1915 in the 2nd U.S. Cavalry. Became Corporal on April 19, 1919. Claims to be 1st American soldier to do a watch on the Rhine in World War I at the famed Ludendorff Bridge at Remagen, Germany. As a bugler, he sounded the 1st "First Call" at Plattsburg Barracks May 15, 1917 when the 1st Officers Training Camp opened.
