Banker and civic leader. Born 1894, in Childress, Texas. Family moved to Crosby County in 1905. Attended West Texas State Teachers College in Canyon, Texas, and Brantley-Draughton Business College in Fort Worth. Along with his father and brother founded two private banks in Crosby County in 1912. Served as chairman of the Board of Security State Bank and Trust Company in Ralls, Texas. Also, served on the Board of Regents at Texas Tech University (1961-1967) and as a director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, Texas. Was active in the Boy Scouts of America, Panhandle Plains Historical Society, Ralls Chamber of Commerce, Rotary International, and served as president of Rotary International (1960-1961). Died in 1979.
