Janvier, Charles, 1857-1927.

Charles Janvier was educated at the College of the Immaculate Conception in New Orleans, La. He managed several insurance companies before being made president of the Canal Bank & Trust Company in 1904 and the Louisiana National Bank in 1913. Janvier was Louisiana state senator for the 6th senatorial district (Orleans Parish) between 1904 and 1905 and was prominent in New Orleans social clubs and Carnival. He also was a member of the White League in 1874 and president of the Citizens' League in 1896.
