Merchant and politician. Born at "Oakover" in 1834, son of Samuel Moore, one of the pioneers of the Swan River Colony. Worked for Surveyor General, J.S. Roe, before starting work on a station. Joined an exploration party with Gregory, Roe and Nairne through the Gascoyne. Later commenced business in Fremantle, trading as W.D. Moore & Co. Became President of the Chamber of Commerce, Director of the West Australian Bank, and member of both the Upper and Lower Houses of the WA Parliament.
