George Fletcher Moore (1798-1886) arrived in Western Australia in 1829 and settled in the Swan district. A lawyer by profession, he was appointed Advocate General in 1934. He was acting Colonial Secretary for a period, than a director of the Western Australia Bank. His brother Samuel (1803-1849) arrived in W.A. in 1934, becoming a progressive agriculturalist, as well as a businessman. Samuel's son William Dalgety Moore (1834-1910) was a merchant trading as W.D. Moore & Co.
