Walter Spencer Robertson (1893-1970) was an investment banker, a financial and cultural leader in Richmond, Va., and a specialist in international Far Eastern affairs. Robertson served as a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Force in the First World War, as Chief of the U.S. Lend-Lease Mission to Australia, 1943-1944; as American Minister at the U.S. Embassy in Chungking, China, 1945-1946,;as Assistant Secretary of State for Far Eastern Affairs, 1953-1959; and as a Delegate to the 14th Session of the United Nations.
