Cooper River (South Carolina) plantation owner, son of Samuel and Mary Gourdin. Peter Gourdin lived at Buck, then Cote Bas (acquired from Isaac Holmes, formerly belonging to Isaac Harleston), and finally at Mepkin Plantation (a portion of Tarkleberry Plantation inherited from his father, Samuel Gourdin). Gourdin and his wife (m. 1861) Constantia Harleston Moultrie Gourdin (1829-1881) also owned the Bluff, Elwood, and Irish Town Plantations.
