Born Sept. 8, 1928, in Texas to Mexican American parents. After his military service, he became a radio disc jockey, radio and television producer, and show host in North Carolina, Texas, and New Mexico. Later worked for public and private agencies, including the Dept. of the Navy, the Office of Equal Employment Opportunity, the United Way of America, and the Hispanic Foundation.
