Surveyer, senior partner in J. B. Ferguson & Co. of Hagerstown, Md., active and longtime member of the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal Association. In 1960s worked to transform the 184-mile abandoned canal into the current national historic park managed by the National Park Service. The Association's mission is to protect, preserve, and promote the assets of the national park, and it has a range of programs and activities to encourage the use of the park.
